Depok Mayor Invites Santri To 'War' In Politics

Depok Mayor Mohammad Idris invited students to participate in the world of politics. He invited the students to "war" in politics.

He conveyed this when commemorating National Santri Day in Depok, Saturday, October 22. He reminded the students not only to become political tools.

"Don't want to be a political tool, yes, my brothers and sisters, but must fight in politics," said Idris as quoted by Antara.

Idris said that politics is large and wide. The mayor hopes that students can and must go to war in this case because Islamic boarding schools are places to forge education for prospective leaders of the nation and state.

"So, this is a mandate that must be carried out so that one day our students will become leaders of the nation and state," said Idris.

He reiterated that students must become actors in politics, not as a political tool.

Idris then said that the commemoration of National Santri Day every October 22 should also be the main actor or actor in defending the nation and state.

On October 22, he said, President Joko Widodo determined as National Santri Day to invite all components to defend the nation and state.

"What is their role in defending the country and nation against the form of colonialism?" said Idris.

Idris advised all Islamic boarding schools to become a place to forge students to become leaders of the nation and state so that in the future they can contribute to the life of the nation and state.
