Entering The Election Quiet Period, Mahfud MD: Don't Make A Noise

JAKARTA - The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD reminded all parties to maintain a conducive atmosphere to avoid uproar ahead of the 2020 simultaneous regional elections.

"Alhamdulillah, this Saturday, we have ended the campaign period and have begun to enter the calm period of the regional elections simultaneously. Fill the calm days, really make calm, do not make noise. Prepare for the voting day or the vote on December 9 as well as possible, well. that's the organizer, the contestants and the community, ”said Mahfud MD in a video press statement from the official residence in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Saturday, December 5.

The 71-day election campaign has passed well and is now entering a period of calm on 6, 7, 8 December 2020. Mahfud asks all people to maintain a conducive situation.

The simultaneous regional election is very worried by many parties, it will cause problems with the spread of COVID-19, therefore Mahfud invites together to prove that all people can apply discipline and maintain it all.

"For the people, for the people, please give as many votes as you can, because your one vote will determine your future, at least determine your destiny under the leadership for the next 5 years," said Mahfud.

He appreciates all parties involved, because according to him the 71-day campaign period can be passed well, and starting tomorrow 6, 7, 8 are calm days.

"Please on the D-day, the 9th, come in droves to the polling stations according to the time, the schedule set by the KPU and follow the health protocols determined by the KPU. And don't make a fuss. Usually, the commotion occurs after the vote count and so on. Everything must be proportional and orderly for the good of us, "he said.
