Basarnas Finds 5 Climbers Who Visit Mount Guntur Garut, Here's The Condition

JAKARTA - Five climbers who were reported missing on Mount Guntur, Garut Regency, West Java, were finally found, Saturday, October 22 in the morning WIB. They were successfully evacuated by the Basarnas team.

The five climbers were reported to have lost their way on Mount Guntur. Head of the Bandung Search and Rescue Office, Jumaril, said the joint team found the five of them safe.

"He has been found safe and healthy," said Jumaril as quoted by Antara.

He said that his party received information and requests for evacuation from one of the climbers named Angga Pratama. He said he was targeted with four of his friends on Mount Guntur on Friday, October 21, 2022, at 17.00 WIB.

At that time the five of them were about to go up to Mount Guntur after passing Post 3.

"The reporter admitted that he lost his way and decided to set up a tent because of the weather at the time of the rain," he said.

Joint officers who came to the location finally managed to find the whereabouts of climbers. They were then taken to Post 3 of Mount Guntur climbing to get further treatment.

The head of the Tarogong Kaler Police, Ipda Budiman, who also went down to search and evacuate the climbers, said his staff went straight to the location of the hiking trail after receiving information that five climbers were lost.

He said the climber did not know the direction because of the wrong path after passing through the first post on Mount Guntur. "They survive in a tent because it is still raining in the Mount Guntur area," said Jumaril.
