Sumardi, who is the inactive Secretary of the Bogor Regency Trade and Industry Office (Disperdagin), fled for 64 days after being named a corruption suspect. Agus Sunaryo admitted that he had faced a number of obstacles in handling cases that had been worked on by the Bogor District Attorney's Office since 2018, one of which was due to the delay in the COVID-19 pandemic. "Indeed, the COVID situation has also limited the team from conducting inspections, the current situation has not yet been resolved by COVID," said Agus Sunaryo. Sumardi is on the wanted list (DPO) after being absent from the summons of the Bogor District Attorney's Office as a suspect in a corruption case in disaster relief funds. Sumardi along with another person with the initials SS, a contract employee at BPBD in 2011-2018, was named a suspect on Thursday, July 28, 2022. Sumardi, who is a former Head of Emergency and Logistics of the Bogor Regency BPBD, together with SS, is considered to have misappropriated funds worth IDR 1.7 billion for disaster assistance sourced from Unexpected Expenditures (BTT) for the 2017 fiscal year. The aid fund worth Rp1.7 billion should have been distributed by the Bogor Regency BDBD to the public in three sub-districts, namely Cisarua, Tenjolaya and Jasinga. However, as a result of the prosecutor's examination of witnesses, the assistance was not distributed.
