The Acting Head of the Central Jakarta Environmental Agency, Edy Mulyanto, emphasized that extortion practice is not justified to cart officers. His party is checking the veracity of the report.

"I also don't know that information yet, because we are also checking in the field. I am gathering all of my Kasatpel throughout Central Jakarta. I ask all Kasatpel to check in the field," Edy told reporters, Thursday, October 20.

Even Edy has also asked the Kasatpel to check all of his subordinates, both ASN and PJLP.

"If there are like illegal levies like that, this is not true and must be dealt with firmly," he said.

Edy said the PJLP officer was threatened with being dismissed if he was proven to have committed extortion. According to him, the levy is not true because they have been facilitated by salaries by the Environmental Service.

"If he is PJLP, later the direction must be given a warning from SP, maybe even later dismissal. Then if he is an ASN, there is a realm from the inspectorate and all kinds of things," he said.

"The levy is not true. So it is not true, it should not be done let alone the devices from the LH Sub-Department, they already have a salary, they have been facilitated by the LH Sub-Department," he added.
