Central Lombok BPPD Chairmanjerat 2 Cases: Case Of Car Embezzlement And MotoGP Ticket Fraud 2022

The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police (Polda NTB) detained the head of the Central Lombok Regional Tourism Promotion Agency (BPPD) with the initials IW in connection with the alleged embezzlement of four-wheeled vehicles or cars.

The Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Senior Commissioner of Police Artanto, confirmed that IW was detained by investigators from the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the NTB Police in connection with an alleged embezzlement case.

"Yes, the person concerned has been detained at the NTB Police Detention Center in the case of alleged car embezzlement," said Artanto when confirmed in Mataram, NTB, Wednesday, October 19.

He said the NTB Regional Police had named IW as a suspect based on the results of the case title. IW was also detained for the sake of further investigation.

"According to the results of the case title, IW was named a suspect under the suspicion of Article 372 of the Criminal Code concerning Embezzlement," he said.

In this case, suspect IW allegedly carried out the mode of embezzlement by deliberately borrowing the victim's car named my brother. After successfully borrowing, IW sold the victim's car.

"Regarding the number and location, I have not monitored it. What is clear is that the case is still being investigated," he said.

The chairman of the Central Lombok BPPD was revealed not only to be involved in cases of alleged embezzlement.

In handling the NTB Regional Police, IW was also involved and has become a suspect in the alleged fraud case of selling MotoGP tickets in 2022.

For the alleged fraud case, Artanto confirmed that investigators had transferred IW's file to the research prosecutor.

"So, for the case of the MotoGP ticket sale fraud, investigators are still waiting for the results of the prosecutor's research," said Artanto.
