KALBAR - A man named Alwi (53) disappeared in the forest of Kekurak Village, Badau District, Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan). TNI-Polri personnel plunged into the forest in the Indonesia-Malaysia border area.

The TNI-Polri apparatus are members of the RI-Malaysia Border Security Task Force (Satgas Pamtas) Yonarmed 19/105 Trk Bogani.

In addition, the community and the local police also helped search for the man who had been missing since Wednesday, October 12.

"We sent personnel and health workers to help the community find missing residents in the border forest," said the Commander of the Pamtas Yonarmed 19/105 Trk Bogani Task Force, Lt. Col. Edi Yulian Budiargo, when contacted, Wednesday, October 19.

However, until now, the search for a joint team in the forest of Kekurak Village, which is still fitted with the RI-Malaysia border sign, has not yielded any results.

Based on the chronology of the incident received, Wednesday, October 12, at around 11.00 WIB, Alwi and Arpansi departed from home to the forest to look for wood that would be used as a pole for bubu or fish search equipment.

When he was about to cut wood in the middle of the forest, Arpansi wanted to call Alwi, who was behind him, turned out to be gone.

When it was getting dark Alwi did not come and Arpansi first returned home and reported the incident to local residents.

"We hope that with the assistance from the Pamtas Task Force personnel, the victims can be found and can be immediately evacuated to the victim's house," he said.

Separately, Badau Police Chief AKP Surarso said, from the chronology of the incident, it was suspected that Alwi was lost in the forest of Kekurak Village.

"There is no sign yet when searching, the victim is suspected of being lost," he said.

AKP Surarso conveyed that several obstacles in searching with the joint team were quite extensive forest areas and frequent rainy weather conditions.

"We and the TNI are helping the community in the search to make tents in the forest," said Surarso.
