KPK Detains Former BPK Member Rizal Djalil

JAKARTA - KPK investigators detained former member of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) Rizal Djalil and Commissioner of PT Minarta Dutahutama, Leonardo Jusminarta Prasetyo, Thursday, December 3.

Both of them were detained after undergoing examination as suspects in a bribery case related to the construction of a Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) at the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (Kempupera).

Deputy Chairman of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, said that Rizal Djalil and Leonardo were detained in two different detention centers (Rutan).

Rizal was detained at the KPK's Red and White House Prison, while Leonardo was detained at the KPK branch of the Pomdam Jaya Guntur branch, Jakarta. Both are detained for the next 20 days or at least until December 22, 2020.

"For the sake of investigations, the KPK detained the suspects for 20 days from December 3, 2020 to December 22, 2020," said Ghufron at the KPK Building, Jakarta, Thursday, December 3.

Meanwhile, Rizal Djalil and Leonardo will undergo independent isolation for 14 days in the ACLC building or the old KPK building. This is done as part of a health protocol to prevent the spread of the corona virus or Covid-19.

It is known that the KPK has named Rizal Djalil as a suspect in the alleged bribery case related to SPAM at Kempupera since September 2019. Not only Rizal Djalil, the KPK has also charged the President Commissioner of PT Minarta Dutahutama (PT MD) Leonardo Jusminarta Prasetyo. However, until now the two suspects have not been detained.

Determination of the suspects against both of them is a development of the SPAM project bribery case that ensnared four SPAM Kempupera officials and four private parties.

Rizal Djalil, through one of his family, is suspected of receiving a flow of funds of SGD 100,000 from Leonardo. The money was given by Leonardo because Rizal helped Leonardo's company to get the Hungary Main Distribution Network (JDU) SPAM project with a budget ceiling of Rp 79.27 billion. Rizal is suspected of asking for the project from the Kempupera SPAM officials to then work on the project by Leonardo.
