What Is The Function Of The Police To Form A Special Team In The PT Asabri Case?

JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri formed a special team to take several steps related to the alleged corruption of PT Asabri. However, it is not yet certain whether or not the National Police will handle the case.

Head of National Police DivHumas Penum Kombes Asep Adi Saputra said the formation of the special team was an order from the National Police Chief, General Idham Aziz. However, it did not explain the task of the special team.

Moreover, until now, the Indonesian Audit Board (BPK) has not yet delegated the results of the audit on the alleged corruption to any agency.

"As ordered by the National Police Chief as well as the Criminal Investigation Unit, he has formed a special team to carry out a series of activities," Asep said in Jakarta, Monday, January 27.

Apart from waiting for the results of the audit from BPK RI, he said, the Police were still verifying several things and coordinating. However, again and again, it is not explained in detail what is being verified regarding the alleged corruption of the state-owned insurance company.

In fact, on several occasions, the Police have repeatedly said that they are conducting verification without further explaining the matter.

"We are still waiting for the official audit results from the Republic of Indonesia BPK including internal verification of colleagues. Of course, what is the next direction, everyone is waiting for the results of this verification, including the audit from the Republic of Indonesia BPK," said Asep.

For your information, the emergence of allegations of corruption in an insurance company was disclosed by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD. He said, PT Asabri indicated a criminal act of corruption worth Rp10 trillion.

President Director of PT Asabri, Sonny Widjaja denied this information. He asked customers who are members of the TNI not to worry about this issue.
