JAKARTA – A fire that hit a house and shop on Pulo Gebang Street, RT 013/04, Pulogebang Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta scorched two cars in the garage. At the time of the incident, the owner of the house was in the public cemetery (TPU).

Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Head of Sub-dept. Gatot Sulaeman, Wednesday, October 12, said that the extinguishing process was hampered because the location of the water source was so far from the location of the fire. So the process of extinguishing the fire takes a long time.

Gatot explained that the fire, which was suspected to have originated from an electrical short circuit, spread to the two-story building. The fire spread so quickly because there were a lot of flammable materials in the area.

"The cause was an electrical short circuit. What caught fire were empty shop houses and residential houses," said Gatot, Wednesday, October 12.

After the fire was extinguished, the firefighters cooled it down. As a result of the fire, the building covering an area of ​​3,000 meters was charred.
