2.979 Drivers In Kendari Get An Electronic Cross, Most Break Through The Red Light

KENDARI - The Kendari City Police Traffic Unit (Polresta) recorded 2,979 traffic violators affected by an electronic traffic law enforcement (ETLE).

Kasatlantas Polresta Kendari AKP Rudika Harto Kanajiri said the violators were observed to have violated traffic rules while driving, including running a red light and not wearing a helmet.

"That starts from September 22, 2022 or since ETLE was launched nationally until October 12, 2022," he said.

Rudika explained that the violations that occurred were dominated by the red light breaking as many as 2,158 violators, not wearing a 641 violator's helmet, and 180 motorists who did not wear seat belts.

He explained that his party had not taken any action in the form of a ticket, or a persuasive approach in the form of warnings and education through a confirmation letter sent to their respective addresses.

Rudika said that his party had installed 16 surveillance cameras that were ready 24 hours to record all kinds of motorist violations on the highway, including the Kendari City intersection, Adi Bahasa Roundabout, Pasar Baru intersection, Bank Sinar Mas intersection, MTQ Traffic Post intersection, Made Sabara Street (front to the Capriska Kuke Shop), and the Tax Office intersection.

The next monitoring camera is on Jalan La Ode Hadi bypass (front of Honda Gratia), intersection four Eua-Wua, Jalan Ahmad Yani (Depan Ace Informa), intersection of the MTQ Traffic Post, Raja Coffee intersection, Tapal Kuda Roundabout, Jalan ZA Sugianto (T Triping Bridge), Tank Roundabout, and the Kendari Bay Bridge area.
