Police Update Kanjuruhan Tragedy Victim: 132 People Died

JAKARTA - The National Police updated the latest data on the number of victims who died due to the tragedy at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, East Java, as many as 132 people, an increase from the previous data of 131 people.

Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo said the data had been validated as of October 11 at 17.00 WIB.

"Resume changes to the data on the death toll has increased by one, the total number is 132 people," said Dedi, as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 11.

He said, the death toll increased by one person on behalf of Helen Prisella aged 21 years.

"The victim is a patient at Saiful Anwar General Hospital in Malang," he said.

He explained that initially, the victim came to the hospital on Sunday (2/10), as a moderately injured patient, then was treated in the Ranu Kumbolo room at Saiful Anwar Hospital.

After four days of treatment, she was transferred to the ICU on Wednesday (5/10).

"The patient was declared dead on Tuesday at 14.25 WIB," said Dedi.

Based on the explanation of the doctor who treated her, namely dr Syaifulloh Ghani Sp OT Wadiryan RSSA, the patient in the ICU was diagnosed with multiple extra-cranial trauma (a lot of trauma outside the head), peritoneal bleeding (bleeding in the abdomen) and sepsis (widespread infection).

"The patient has had incidental dialysis (CRRT)," he said.

While the data on the number of injured victims is still the same, namely 607 people, consisting of 532 lightly injured, 49 moderately injured, and 26 seriously injured.

In the Kanjuruhan tragedy, the National Police named six suspects, namely three from the private sector and three from Polri personnel.

The three suspects are civilian elements, namely LIB President Director Ahmad Hadian Lukita, Arema Malang Executive Committee Chairman Abdul Haris, and Security Officer Steward Suko Sutrisno. The three are suspected of violating the provisions of Article 359 and/or Article 360 ​​and/or Article 103 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 52 of Law No. 11 of 2022 concerning Sports.

Three other suspects from the police, namely the Head of Ops of the Malang Polres Kompol Wahyu Setyo Pranoto, the Head of Samapta of the Malang Police AKP Bambang Sidik Achmadi, and the Company Commander (Danki) of the East Java Police Mobile Brigade initials AKP Hasdarman, violated the provisions of Article 359 and/or Article 360 ​​of the Criminal Code by a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

In addition, there are 20 police personnel who are suspected of being involved in ethical violations related to the incident that occurred at the Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang, East Java.
