Deputy Mayor Of South Jakarta Calls The Manggarai Brawl Has Occurred Since The Dutch Age

JAKARTA - Acting Deputy Mayor of South Jakarta Ali Murtadho said that a brawl in Manggarai, Tebet, South Jakarta has occurred since the Dutch colonial era.

"To tell about the brawl, the information is that there was a Dutch era, Mr. Kapolda," said Ali while speaking at the Manggarai Anti-Tightget event attended by the Metro Jaya Police Chief, Inspector General Fadil Imran and the South Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Ade Ary, Tuesday, October 11.

Ali explained that the reason the Manggarai area often fights was because of the density of residential areas. Moreover, said Ali, the lack of activities for teenagers who drop out of school and do not have jobs.

"The situation here, which I mentioned earlier, is that 60 percent of residential areas are quite dense," he said.

"There are very few teenage activities, so it can be ascertained that teenagers who drop out of school do not get the opportunity to work," he concluded.

As is known, South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi previously paid special attention to brawls between residents that often occur in Manggarai, Tebet.

On the first day serving as South Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Ade Ary immediately held a dialogue with residents in Manggarai Village.

The South Jakarta Metro Police and the ranks of the regional government, TNI, and residents of Manggarai have formed an anti- brawl team. In addition, continued Ade, his party also installed CCTV at a number of points prone to brawls.
