JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Ahmad Riza Patria asked the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta to later handle the relocation of residents of illegal building owners around the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).

Today, hundreds of partners around JIS began to be dismantled by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) as the land owner.

Considering that his term of office with the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan will end on October 16, Riza asked the Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono as the Acting Governor of DKI to be elected to follow up on the handling of the affected residents.

"All authority has changed, yes. Mr. Anies has stopped, his authority has changed, the authority lies with the Acting Governor. Pak Heru will know what the steps for handling them are," said Riza at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, October 11.

Moreover, said Riza, Heru had previously been an official of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, namely the Mayor of North Jakarta and the Head of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD).

Thus, he believes Heru is able to overcome residents' problems, including housing needs for residents of illegal building owners affected by infrastructure development.

"PJ Governor, Pak Heru is not a new person, he is an old person. He already understands the various complexities of problems in DKI, densely populated areas that are still slum. He also understands, let alone has been the mayor. In detail, he understands and he knows the stages of settlement," he explained.

For information, KAI has demolished illegal buildings along the railroad tracks near JIS. The demolition of the building between the Ancol Commuter Line Station and Tanjung Priok Station was carried out to support the construction of the KRL temporary station in the JIS area.

Head of Public Relations of PT KAI Daop 1 Eva Chairunisa claimed that there was no rejection when the owner of 254 partners was now dismantled. Thus, KAI did not impose forced evictions.

"As we can see, there is no control, so we don't put heavy equipment today. If we can see, all residents have been very cooperative since yesterday we saw that the evacuation process has started," said Eva.

Eva said that before the demolition, the owner of the team had emptied their goods. Considering that KAI has issued a dismantling notification letter some time ago.

Then, there is a plan to relocate residents by the local government. "Today we are helping to carry out the process of moving their goods because there are residents who say they want to go to the flats. More details will be asked later to the City Government (North Jakarta)," explained Eva.
