Police Sent Second Call To Interrogate Rizieq Shihab And His Son-in-law Monday December 7th

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya investigators have scheduled a second questioning of Rizieq Shihab and his son-in-law, Hanif Alatas next week. The two of them will be questioned in a case of alleged violation of the health protocol (prokes) at the wedding of Syarifah Najwa Shihab in Petamburan, Central Jakarta.

"Members are still sending the second summons at Petamburan to MRS (Muhammad Rizieq Shihab) and also the brother of MHA (Muhamamd Hanif Alatas) who is Rizieq's son-in-law. We schedule it for Monday (December 7, 2020)," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Yusri Yunus to journalists, Wednesday, December 2.

The National Police hopes that Rizieq Shihab and Hanif Alatas can attend. But currently investigators are still trying to deliver the summons. Because investigators had problems when delivering the letter.

"Hopefully the MRS and MHA can attend the examination," said Yusri.

Previously, it was confirmed that Rizieq Shihab and his son-in-law, Hanif Alatas, did not fulfill the summons for the investigation by Polda Metro Jaya. They do not attend for their own reasons.

FPI lawyer, Aziz Yanuar said, the reason for Rizieq Shihab's absence was because he still needed time to recover his physical condition. This is because Rizieq has recently returned from the hospital.

"Still resting, we know that he just returned from the Ummi Hospital, Bogor, after resting there so he is still recovering," said Aziz to reporters, Tuesday, December 1.

The reasons for Rizieq's absence from questioning have also been conveyed to investigators. So, in the near future investigators will send a second summons.

"Today he is not absent, he is represented by us by the legal aid team," he said.

Meanwhile, the reason for Hanif Alatas' absence was due to other activities. The reason was presented by his attorney Kamil Pasha who participated in presenting a statement regarding this matter.

"Sorry we have not been able to fulfill the summons because Habib Hanif already had a schedule when he was called," he said.

The police have upgraded the status of the case for alleged violation of the health protocol (prokes) for Rizieq Shihab's daughter's wedding from investigation to investigation.

Based on the title of the case, the police found an alleged violation of Law Number 6 of 2018 concerning Health Quarantine. Currently investigators are gathering evidence that supports the alleged violation.
