PAPUA - The Joint Team of the Peace Enforcement Task Force Cartenz and the Mimika Resort Police arrested Roy Marthen Howay, a fugitive or wanted list of people in the mutilation case in Timika, the capital of Mimika Regency, Papua. Mimika Police Chief AKBP I Gede Putra confirmed the arrest of the DPO for the mutilation case that killed four residents from Nduga Regency who were in Timika. "It is true that Roy, who became the DPO of the mutilation case, was arrested on Saturday at around 15.00 WIT and is currently being investigated by investigators," he said when contacted by Antara, Sunday, October 9. Roy Howay was arrested on Jalan Cemara, Wania District. Currently, investigators are still investigating the person concerned. With the arrest of Roy Howay, the person concerned will then be prosecuted as was the case with his three colleagues who had already been arrested. "Three other civilians have been named as suspects in the mutilation case, namely APL alias Jeck, DU, and R," explained AKBP Gede Putera. In addition to the four civilians, six TNI soldiers from Brigif 20 were also named suspects in the case of mutilation, namely Major Hf, Captain Dk, Praka Pr, Pratu Ras, Pratu Pc, and Pratu R. The murder accompanied by mutilation took place in the SP 1 area, Mimika Baru District, Mimika Regency, on August 22, 2022 at around 21.50 WIT. The body of the murder victim was dumped around the Pigapu Village River, Iwaka District. The murder case was revealed after the body of Arnold Lokbere, one of the victims, was found by officers in a sack with legs and headless conditions on August 26, 2022. The four residents who were victims of murder accompanied by mutilation were Arnold Lokbere, Irian Nirigi, Leman Nirigi, and Atis Tini who have now been buried traditionally even though the body is not complete.
