3 Indonesian Universities-Obviously Approval Global Cooperation

JAKARTA - Tiga perguruan tinggi Indonesia dan Ethiopia sepakat untuk meningkatkan peran mereka di kancah global mengingat posisi penting mereka dalam pembangunan internasional.

Quoting Antara, Sunday, the agreement was reached at the Indonesian Higher Education Forum entitled Higher Education for the International Development, which was held in a hybrid manner by the Indonesian Embassy in Addis Ababa, Friday.

The three universities involved in the agreement are Harambe University, Budi Luhur University and Merdeka University Malang.

The Indonesia-Security Higher Education Forum is said to be held with the aim of increasing relations and cooperation between Indonesian and Ethiopian universities and their global roles.

In addition, the three universities of the two countries will also improve relations and cooperation for the bilateral interests of Indonesia and Ethiopia as well as global development.

Ambassador Al Busyra Basnur said that the Indonesia-Qura higher education forum was the second time the Indonesian Embassy in Addis Ababa had held it.

Previously, on May 10, 2022, 18 Indonesian and Ethiopian universities participated in similar forums.

Currently, there are 23 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Indonesian universities and Ethiopia. In 2021 itself, there were 17 MoUs signed between universities of the two countries.

Meanwhile, Founder and CEO of Harambee University Feyissa Ararsa is scheduled to go to Indonesia this weekend to meet directly with partners in Indonesia as well as attend the 2022 Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI).

The Indonesia-Mawanga Higher Education Forum presents a number of speakers, including the Indonesian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Dji Abouti and the African Union Al Busyra Basnur, the non-Ecouncial Ambassador of Ethiopia to Indonesia Prof. Dr. Fekadu Beyene, Chancellor of Budi Luhur University Dr. Wendi Usino, President of Harambee University Dr. Habtam Teka, Head of the Merdeka Malang University Cooperation and Innovation Bureau Andini Risfandini and Founder as well as CEO of Feambeissa University Ararsa.

He admitted that his party is ready to collaborate in advancing the tourism sector in Nganjuk Regency, which is known as the 1001 waterfall district.

Some things that need to be paid more attention to tourism in Nganjuk Regency are 3A (acceleration, accessibility, and amenity) factors. Improved national-scale events also need to be presented to attract more tourists.

Considering Nganjuk having a lot of waterfall tourism, Sandiaga asked for accessibility to tourist attractions to be repaired.

In addition, he wants to develop community-based tourism through an affordable homestay, a comfortable, safe, and fun place.

"That is our focus going forward," he said.
