JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan minimally commented on the Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout Bus Stop which hindered his view of the Tugu Selamat Datang cultural heritage.

Anies said there would be further explanations about this matter.

"Yes, it will be explained later," said Anies at the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout Bus Stop, Friday, October 7 night.

Anies admitted to the Transjakarta Bus Stop, the Indonesian Hotel Roundabout is only to review the project that will become one of the iconic Transjakarta Bus Stops.

"This is just a review. Yes, because all work must be reviewed," said Anies explaining the reason for his arrival.

What's interesting is the presence of the family of former Jakarta Governor Henk Ngatung who is also the architect of the Welcome Monument -- icon in the Hotel Indonesia roundabout area.

Anies admitted that he only met with Henk Ngatung's children to stay in touch without discussing polemic issues.

"Just stay in touch. No (custom TJ Bus Stop), there is no such thing," he said.

Previously, historian JJ Rizal asked the Governor of DKI Jakarta and PT Transport Jakarta (TransJakarta) to stop the Tosari-Bundaran HI Bus Stop revitalization project because the revitalization of the bus stop made the views of residents passing through the area blocked towards the Welcome Statue.

He said that the Welcome Statue was a legacy from the first president of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno with the Governor of DKI Jakarta for the period 19641965 Hendrik Hermanus Joel Ntik or who is familiarly known as Henk Ntik.

In addition, according to him, the Welcome Statue which was blocked by the construction of the Tosari-Bundaran HI Bus Stop is also a symbol of national friendliness, a friendly spirit of carrying out world order based on independence, eternal peace, and social justice.
