Anies Baswedan Sambangi Democrat, NasDem: Hilal The Coalition Gets Closer

JAKARTA - Anies Baswedan is scheduled to visit the DPP office of the Democratic Party in Menteng, Jakarta, today, Friday, October 7. Democrats became the first party Anies visited after being announced as a presidential candidate to be promoted by the NasDem Party in the 2024 presidential election.

NasDem also welcomed Anies' arrival to the Democratic Headquarters. The chairman of the NasDem DPP, Willy Aditya, said that Anies' meeting with the Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) would later become a hard code for the NasDem coalition, Democrats and PKS to be inaugurated.

"We have communicated, and it is a sign of a hard code to build a coalition. So the (coal) hilal is getting closer," said Willy, Friday, October 7.

Willy revealed that NasDem's communication with the Democrats was getting more intensive. Regarding the coalition declaration, he said, it was only a matter of waiting for the right time to declare it together.

"So indeed Mr. Anies came to the Democrats part of the process that we developed," he said.

Bahkan, kata Willy, Anies juga akan mengunjungi PKS setelah pertemuan dengan Demokrat hari ini. Namun soal waktu, masih dipersiapkan.

"Friends from PKS are still taking the time too. We will arrange it later," he said. Previously, the Head of the DPP of the Democratic Party, Andi Arief, said that Anies' arrival plan to his party headquarters was highly anticipated by party cadres bearing the symbol of mercy throughout Indonesia. "In addition to responding to public expectations who want Anies to run as a presidential candidate in 2024, paired with the general chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY)," Andi Arief said in his statement to reporters, Thursday, October 6.

Andi revealed that many asked and even doubted whether Anies would choose AHY as the vice presidential candidate after the declaration in the NasDem Party. According to him, this is natural considering that the way Anies' declaration took place was abnormal. However, Andi did not explain further what was meant by the abnormal declaration.

"However, the Democratic Party believes that tomorrow's meeting at the DPP is a good sign. And it confirms that Anies is part of a change and improvement figure with the Democratic Party," he said.
