JAKARTA - West Java Police investigators will examine eight witnesses in a case of suspected violation of crowd health protocol in Megamendung, West Java. The crowd was attended by Rizieq Shihab.

Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, said that eight witnesses would be questioned Wednesday, December 2. Of the eight witnesses, two of them were the Head of the Megamendung Sub-District and the Head of the Megamendung Police Headquarters.

"For Wednesday, December 2, 2020, the plan is to examine 8 witnesses," Brigadier General Awi Setiyono told reporters, Tuesday, December 1.

Meanwhile, the 6 witnesses who will also be examined are parties from the lowest governmental elements to the head of the puskesmas. They will be asked to explain about the crowd.

"(Witness) Head of RT, then head of RW, Head of Kuta Village, Head of Sukagalih Village, then Babinkamtibmas, Head of Puskesmas," he said.

The case has been upgraded from investigation to investigation. The determination of the status of the case is based on the results of the case title.

In the case title, the investigator assesses that there is a criminal offense. Thus, in investigating this case, the police used Article 14 Paragraph 1 and Paragraph 2 of Law Number 4 of 1984 concerning outbreaks of infectious diseases, Article 93 of Law Number 6 of 2018 concerning health quarantine, and Article 216 of the Criminal Code.
