JAKARTA - The TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa admitted that his party had examined 5 soldiers related to the Kanjuruhan Tragedy, Malang Regency, East Java. Those examined were four with the rank of Second Sergeant (Serda) and one Private One (P Ratu).

"Serangsan Dua ada empat orang, dan Soldier Satu ada satu orang. Kita memeriksa yang lebih di atasnya," ujar Andika setelah mengikuti Ceremony Peringatan Anniversary ke-77 TNI di Istana Merdeka, Jakarta, dikutip dari Antara, Rabu 5 Oktober.

Andika revealed that from the results of the examination of five security soldiers, the Arema FC vs Persebaya Surabaya match ended in chaos on Saturday, October 1, four of them have admitted their actions, but one has not.

Regarding the results of the examination, Andika said that his party would explore the suitability of the procedures and instructions they conveyed to the soldiers on duty at the Kanjuruhan Stadium at the time of the incident.

Andika emphasized that the acts of violence committed by TNI soldiers in the viral video on social media did not deserve to occur.

"As in the video, yes, it's a number of people. It's that they attack people or individuals who don't attack them, and even have their backs. I don't think that's very, very bad," he said.

Previously, the National Police recorded that the death toll from the Kanjuruhan Tragedy as of Wednesday, October 5, increased by six people to 131 people.

The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, said that the six victims came from victims who were independently evacuated by their families without being recorded at a hospital or health facility (faskes).
