GARUT - Four students were victims of the collapse of the SDN 1 Bunisari building, Malangbong District, Garut Regency, West Java.

Deputy Regent of Garut Helmi Budiman stated that the victims had received the treatment of a doctor and that their condition was starting to improve.

"There were four people (students) who were hit, earlier I went directly to the Puskesmas and it has been handled properly," said Helmi Budiman after inspecting the building of SDN 1 Bunisari, Garut which collapsed in Malangbong District, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, October 4.

He said that the roof of one of the rooms at SDN 1 Bunisari collapsed during teaching and learning activities at around 10.00 WIB.

The student who was studying was hit by building roof materials such as wood and tiles. The victim was immediately taken to the nearest health center for medical treatment.

The condition of the student, said Helmi, had been immediately handled by a doctor, until he was finally allowed to go home.

"Meeting the doctor, he was injured, he was sewn and he went home for outpatient treatment," he said.

He ensured that all medical and treatment costs as a result of the incident were borne by the local government.

"I have assigned the Head of the Health Service (or) of the puskesmas to provide the best service, free until he recovers," he said.

Helmi apologized to students and parents. He hopes that the school will collapse this is the last time.

Meanwhile, to students who were victims, Helmi prayed for a speedy recovery so that they could return to school to participate in teaching and learning activities as usual. "We pray that you will recover quickly," he said.
