Commission X: Don't Just Be Sad, There Must Be Someone Who Is In Charge Of The Conflict Of Struggle

JAKARTA - The Independent Joint Fact Finding Team (TGIPF) was asked to conduct a thorough investigation so that the tragedy of Kanjuruhan, Malang, could come to light. Moreover, tragedy arose as a result of the alleged repressive actions of the officers that killed 125 people.

"We hope that TGIPF can work optimally to find a bright spot to thoroughly track this incident," said Deputy Chairman of Commission X of the DPR Dede Yusuf in Jakarta, Tuesday, October 4. Dede considers the tragedy of Kanjuruhan as a disaster for the world of sports.

"Many parents have lost their children, children have lost their parents, and not a few casualties have come from the nation's young generation of hope," regretted Dede.

The incident that occurred on October 1 was the second largest tragedy in the history of riots at the football stadium. A total of 448 victims in the Kanjuruhan tragedy with details of 302 people suffered minor injuries, 21 people were seriously injured, and 125 people died.

It was stated that the police fired tear gas to dispel supporters who entered the field after the Arema FC vs Persebaya Surabaya match in the Liga 1 continued. In fact, tear gas was also fired at the stands, causing the audience to run out of the stadium.

The Malang District Health Office revealed that the number of fatalities was caused by panic situations due to chaos and some being trampled on. Although medically the cause of death is suspected to be shortness of breath. Therefore, the Democrat politician also questioned the actions taken by the authorities. He regretted why the officers used such repressive violence, even using tear gas.

The former Deputy Governor of West Java emphasized that there must be accountability from the relevant stakeholders. In particular, the parties involved in organizing the match.

"We must not finish just to grief. There must be someone who is responsible. The implementing committee, PSSI, then the officers for their repressive actions are like that," he said.

Commission X of the DPR also agreed that there would be a temporary suspension of Liga 1, Liga 2, and League 3, as well as other similar competitions until there were real improvements to the governance of football championships. Dede said that the temporary suspension of the football league was important in investigating the riots at the Kanjuruhan Stadium.

Before the standard SOP is agreed upon, all stakeholders, including the security forces, should the league be postponed first. This problem must be traced to its roots so that such a heartbreaking event does not happen again," said the legislator from the West Java II electoral district.

The chairman of Commission X of the DPR revealed that his party would summon the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Indonesian Police, PSSI, PT Liga Indonesia Baru, the Supporter Representative, and the Implementing Committee to hold a meeting about the tragedy of the Court. The meeting, said Dede, will be held even though the DPR will enter a recess tomorrow.

Commission X of the DPR, he added, also urged PT. The New Indonesia League to immediately provide insurance guarantees for the rights of victims of the Kanjuruhan Tragedy. The DPR hopes that the government will immediately enforce Law Number 11 of 2022 concerning Sport and request that derivative regulations of the law be issued immediately. Including the matter of procedures for implementation and rights of security for spectators and supporters.

"Hopefully the events in Kanjururan will be the last and there will be no more riots that cause the bad face of the Indonesian football world," concluded Dede.
