JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) of Baai Island appealed to fishermen and barges not to go to sea because of bad weather. There are high waves in the waters of Enggano Bengkulu which can even reach four meters. "For the time being, fishermen are asked to look for fish in Bengkulu waters not to go to sea," said Head of the BMKG Information Data Section for Baai Island Bengkulu, Anang Anwar, Tuesday, October 4. He explained that the high wave was caused because the wind pattern in the northern part of Indonesia was dominant to move from East to Southeast with wind speeds ranging from five to 20 knots. Meanwhile, in the southern part of Indonesia, it is dominant to move from the East to Southeast and the highest wind speed is in Lampung waters and Merauke waters. In addition, the public is also asked to be aware of the weather that occurred in the Bengkulu Province for the next few days. Because there will be moderate to heavy rain accompanied by winds that have a magnitude of three to 18 knots. "It is estimated that for the next three days the area in Bengkulu Province will experience rain accompanied by strong winds," Anang said as quoted by Antara.

The rainfall that occurred in Bengkulu was caused by the presence of Cyclonic circulation in the West waters of Sumatra so that it formed convergence and wind bends in the Sumatra region, especially in Bengkulu.
