After Anies Became A Presidential Candidate, PKS Singgung Trusted In NasDem And Democrats

JAKARTA - The President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Ahmad Syaikhu, welcomed the NasDem Party which officially declared the Governor of DKI Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate (readpres) for the 2024 presidential election. PKS hopes that this decision will bring goodness to the progress of the Indonesian nation.

"PKS views that the figure of Mr. Anies Rasyid Baswedan is one of the national figures who have a good track record of leadership, have a religious nationalist spirit, have the capacity to lead the nation and be able to become a symbol of change for Indonesia in the future," Syaikhu told reporters, Monday, October 3.

Syaikhu said his party respects NasDem's attitude in choosing early to declare the 2024 presidential candidate. According to him, every political party has an internal mechanism in deciding its position regarding coalitions and presidential candidates. "And the decisions of the coalition and the presidential candidacy within the PKS will be determined in the mechanism of the Shura Council," said Syaikhu. Syaikhu then mentioned the mutual trust between PKS and NasDem, as well as Democrats as his coalition friends. He considered that NasDem's decision represented the PKS' decision to elect the best presidential candidate.

"We are grateful that the political communication between PKS, the NasDem Party and the Democratic Party has gone very well, is open, equal and prioritizes mutual trust to jointly choose the best national leader candidate for the Indonesian people," said Syaikhu.
