SEMARANG - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo expressed his condolences and prayed for the victims of the humanitarian tragedy that occurred at the Kanjurahan Stadium, Malang Regency, East Java, Saturday, October 1.

"We are really sad to see our football world. Of course, there are 127 if I'm not mistaken in the news, that's a very small number. Hopefully, the victims who died were husnul khotimah," said Ganjar in a written statement, Sunday, October 2.

Ganjar does not deny that supporters are always enthusiastic and full of enthusiasm when they support their proud team to compete.

That spirit always makes the atmosphere in all stadiums burning. But a tragedy like what happened at the Kanjuruhan Stadium should be avoided when everyone can take care of each other.

"Indeed, if we compete with a great atmosphere, we must be enthusiastic. But there is something we must maintain that it is our brother. That it is a great team that we support and we support it, it is also people who have human values. So the emotions must really be maintained," said Ganjar, who is also a supporter of Manchester United.

According to him, the tragedy in Malang was a major evaluation of the Indonesian football world. Both the organizers and the supporters of the football team and security officers.

Ganjar hopes that there will be a large meeting involving all groups of supporters in Indonesia. The goal is to find a solution so that similar actions do not happen again.

"Supporters must be able to restrain themselves, take care of each other. It seems important to make a meeting, a congress between consumers so that they have a value together so that then they can take care of each other. So that every game has a code of conduct, there is PAC that can control their own friends, and it can't happen again," he said.

For your information, the tragedy of the riots against supporters at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, took place after the East Java Derby match between Arema FC vs Persebaya.

In that match, the Arema FC home team had to lose to Persebaya with a score of 2-3.

After the match, there was a riot in the stadium. Police tried to control the situation with tear gas shots. There was an act of arson and destruction that made the police shoot tear gas.

As a result of the incident, 130 people have died so far, 2 of whom are members of the police. The victim died allegedly due to lack of oxygen.
