MANADO-In the upcoming 2024 election, the millennial generation will be the largest participant in the general election compared to other age groups. Responding to this, the General Election Commission (KPU) targets millennials and Generation Z to be concerned about the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous General Election (Pemilu). "If the millennial generation and Gen Z are given a good understanding and education about democracy, then the attitude of concern for the implementation of elections will be their part," said the Daily Executive (Plh) of the Minahasa KPU Chair Rendy Suawa, in Manado, Saturday, October 1, to Antara. Rendy said the KPU continues to encourage millennial and Gen Z's concern for politics and actively participate in using political rights in the 2024 General Election. Generation Z and millennials, according to him, have a significant number in the population and are very understanding related to digitalization interaction, so it is important to introduce and involve themselves early in relation to political education. According to him, this generation is not only a source of voice, but also plays an active role in democracy and cares about the implementation of the 2024 General Election.

Rendy explained that in terms of political participation, Generation Z is very substantial because in the percentage of millennial voters will contribute a lot of votes in the 2024 election later. Generation Z has its own influence in elections, apart from the large number, Generation Z also lives in the era of information where everything uses the internet or online media. Based on a survey byCentre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), the upcoming 2024 election will be dominated by Generation Z and millennials whose age range is 17-39 years close to 60 percent. Even Golkar is said to be the most familiar party according to the survey.
