Member Of The DPR From The PDIP Faction Asked The North Sumatran Police Chief To Choose A Fatas Judi And Drugs

JAKARTA - Member of the House of Representatives from the PDI-P (PDIP) faction, Junimart Girsang, asked Regional Police Chiefs (Kapolda), especially the North Sumatra Police Chief (North Sumatra) not to be selective in eradicating gambling and drugs.

"When asked about opinions, I think everything that the North Sumatran Police Chief is now doing is only ceremonial," said Junimart in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Thursday, September 29.

The Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the DPR assessed that the current conditions on the ground are much different from reports that the North Sumatra Police are actively eradicating gambling and drugs.

According to Junimart, drug trafficking and gambling are still rampant in North Sumatra, so he questioned the seriousness of the North Sumatra Police Chief in eradicating gambling and drugs.

"So far, the North Sumatra Police Chief seems to have only focused on eradicating one particular gambling dealer, while other dealers are not being pursued. Likewise in eradicating drugs," said the member of the North Sumatra III Elections Regional Council (Dapil).

Junimart also asked the Kapolda to act responsively, for example in responding to the telegram (TR) of the National Police Chief for handing over the position (sertijab) of the Asahan Police Chief, which had a long period of time, but had only been implemented.

In addition, according to him, the position of Director and Deputy Director of Special Crimes at the North Sumatra Police is still vacant, even though the law enforcement process must continue.

Therefore, he asked the National Police Chief to supervise all Regional Police Chiefs so that various shortcomings can be immediately addressed to increase public trust in the National Police, especially in North Sumatra.
