SUMBAR - The Padang City Police continue to investigate cases of alleged sexual exploitation of children with a suspect who acts as a pimp with the initials WO (32).

The police revealed the case on the evening of Tuesday, September 20. Now the process is in the stage of investigating the Padang Police Women and Children Service Unit (PPA).

"From the examination, it was revealed that the suspect was suspected of having exploited the 16-year-old victim sexually in the last year," said Head of the Padang Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Police Commissioner Dedy Adriansyah Putra, in Padang, West Sumatra (West Sumatra), quoted from Antara, Wednesday, September 28.

He said, WO acted as the person who offered the victim to a masher. WO also determines the price.

In the transaction, the last time it was known that the suspect charged Rp 1.2 million, where the suspect made a profit of Rp800,000 and the victim's child was Rp40,000.

Meanwhile, for the previous transaction, Putra said, all transaction money was held by the suspect with a system if the victim needed food, clothes, or other daily needs he paid.

He revealed that the relationship between pimps and the victim's child began when they met in the night world. The two then intensely met until they were familiar.

The police also reminded all parents to supervise their respective children's activities and interactions, especially when out at night.

"We will continue to explore this case to find out if there are other victims, but so far only one person has been revealed," he explained.

Currently, the suspect WO has been detained by the Padang Police. For his actions, the suspect was charged with criminally violating Article 76 letter I in conjunction with Article 88 of the Child Protection Law.

For the entanglement of this article, the WO suspect, who is known to work as a housewife, is threatened with a maximum imprisonment of 10 years, and a fine of up to Rp. 200 million.

The case was revealed after the Klewang Team of the Padang Police together with members of the PPA Unit raided Hotel A room located on Jalan Bundo Kanduang, Padang, on Tuesday night, September 20.
