JAKARTA - The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police will have a new uniform equipped with a body camera (bodycam). The fresh update is in order to increase supervision of traffic order.

"For the use of traffic uniforms, which is planned to have a bodycam," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Division Kombes Nurul Azizah when confirmed, Tuesday, September 27.

Later, the uniform with this bodycam will be used while on duty in the Regulation, Guard, Security and Patrol Units (Turjawali Units).

The goal is to monitor the traffic situation. In fact, the bodycam will also be integrated with Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE).

Thus, the prosecution of violators will be more efficient. Especially, avoiding direct contact with officers with violators.

"It will be integrated with ETLE or in the action of traffic violators, thereby reducing direct contact officers with violators who are prone to causing debate or other irregularities," said Nurul.

The Traffic Police Corps officially updated the field service clothes and traffic police operational service vehicles.

"We see that there needs to be adjustments. The new PDL (field service use) uniform is a modification from the previous uniform," said Head of Korlantas Polri Inspector General Firman Shantyabudi.

Some of the changes to the PDL, including attributes made of embroidery, have links to handy talky (HT) and bodycam, as well as reflectors so that they can be seen from afar and attract attention.
