Police Cancel Tulus Concert Because It Has The Potential To Trigger Crowds During The COVID-19 Pandemic

JAKARTA - Police canceled a concert by musician Muhammad Tulus which was scheduled to take place at the Aquatic Stadium, Gelora Bung Karno, South Jakarta, Saturday, November 28, because it had the potential to trigger a crowd.

"Yes, he proposed, but we don't allow it to be conveyed to the committee, it should be postponed because of mass gathering activities, so there will be a crowd," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Yusri Yunus in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Sunday, November 29.

Yusri said the police had been objective by looking at the COVID-19 pandemic situation which is currently on the rise in Jakarta.

Activities that are mass gathering, said Yusri, are not allowed even though the provisions related to health protocols have been prepared by the committee.

"Yes, it must be objective, surely the current situation is what all the crowd is, 3M that must be applied is the force that gathers the masses where one crowd can occur, that is not allowed," he said.

"That's why we postponed first, we reminded the committee, the committee also understands thank God that it was postponed, canceled until the situation later how the condition of COVID-19," said Yusri.

Previously, the Tulus concert at the same venue on October 25, 2020 was also canceled. At that time, the Tulus concert was postponed after the Monochrome singer was reportedly ill.

Tulus is scheduled to sing at the Tulus Concert which will be held at the GBK Senayan Aquatic Stadium, Central Jakarta on October 25 at 19.00 WIB.
