The Indonesian Embassy In Kuala Lumpur Has Temporarily Closed Services Due To COVID-19

JAKARTA - Services at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Kuala Lumpur will be temporarily closed from November 30 to December 4 because the service premises were sprayed with disinfectant after several employees were infected with COVID-19.

Reported by Antara, Sunday, November 29, based on a circular received in Kuala Lumpur, Saturday, it was stated that the temporary closure was carried out in the context of spraying disinfectants throughout the Indonesian Embassy building to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.

Passport-like travel documents (SPLP) for those who have been served continue as usual by complying with health protocols.

The Indonesian Embassy urges all Indonesian citizens to always comply with health protocols by always wearing masks, washing their hands diligently and maintaining their distance.

Coordinator of the Education and Culture Function of the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Yoshi Iskandar, when confirmed, confirmed that there were staff who were positive for COVID-19.

"Indeed, from the existing developments there are positive staff. The Indonesian Embassy has taken steps to carry out a swab test for all staff and enforcing work from home for Indonesian Embassy staff," he said.

Last Friday (27/11), the public service for immigration documents was still served by implementing strict health protocols.

"A linear step is also carried out by disinfecting in a row in all rooms in the building including the service section. Evaluation will continue to be carried out for the next steps, including for future public services," he said.
