PKS: OTT Minister KP Edhy Prabowo Should Be An Evaluation Material For Jokowi

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III DPR RI from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) faction Nasir Djamil assessed the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrest operation (OTT) that caught Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo should be used as evaluation material for President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

According to him, this incident indicated that there was an imperfect system in monitoring and controlling corruption in the cabinet formed by the former Governor of DKI Jakarta.

"So this evaluation is to be able to see whether the supervision and control system of the ministers is running well or not," Nasir said in the Crosscheck discussion program which was broadcast on YouTube, Sunday, November 29.

He said Jokowi could just pretend that he could not protect his cabinet 24 hours. However, for Nasir, the KPK's arrest of Edhy would certainly have an impact on the government and show that the head of state failed to protect his assistants.

"When this incident happened, like it or not, it was like Jokowi's face was splashed too," he said

"Because this shows that there is no monitoring and control system that is completely clear. So this is a tremendous risk and the impact is like an earthquake in Jokowi's cabinet," he added.

Previously reported, the KPK conducted a hand arrest (OTT) operation against the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo. He was arrested along with a number of people including his wife, Iis Rosita Dewi upon arrival at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, Tangerang from Honolulu, Hawaii, United States.

Subsequently, he was named as a suspect in the recipient of the bribe for the export of fries or lobster seeds along with a number of other people.

Those who were also designated as recipients of bribes were special staff of the Minister of KP Edhy Prabowo, Safri (SAF) and Andreau Pribadi Misanta (APM); Management of PT Aero Citra Kargo (PT ACK) Siswadi (SWD); The staff of the wife of the Minister of KKP, Ainul Faqih, and Amiril Mukminin (AM).

Meanwhile, the Director of PT Dua Putra Perkasa Pratama (PT DPPP) Suharjito (SJT) was appointed by the KPK as the giver of bribes.

In this case, Edhy is suspected of receiving Rp3.4 billion in bribes, which in turn used Rp750 million to buy luxury goods in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States. The items he bought included bags, clothes, and luxury Rolex watches. In addition, he is also suspected of buying a bicycle from the bribe.

Currently, he has submitted a resignation letter and has been submitted to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). According to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Antam Novambar said this letter was signed by Edhy on Thursday, November 27, or the day after he was detained at the KPK detention center.

"The resignation letter was signed by Pak Edhy yesterday. The letter was addressed to the President," said Antam in a written statement to reporters, Friday, November 27.

After the letter is sent, his party is just waiting for an official decision from President Jokowi. Because, only the president has the right to grant the dismissal. While waiting for this decision, the KKP is now led by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment who serves as the Ad Interim Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.
