Arrested By The Police, 3 Teenagers From South Sulawesi Who Play The Funeral Prayer Apologize

MAKASSAR - Three teenagers who made a video playing the practice of the funeral prayer apologized. The three teenagers at Sidenreng Rappang (Sidrap), South Sulawesi (Sulsel) were arrested by the police because the video playing the funeral prayers was spread on social media.

"We personally apologize to all Muslims, especially Muslims in Sidenreng Rappang for the video we made and we regret (the actions in) the video and will not repeat it again. The three of us made statements without coercion from any party," said the three teenagers via videotape, Friday, November 27.

Meanwhile, Head of Criminal Investigation Unit at the Sidrap Police, AKP Benny Pornika, said that the three teenagers with the initials La, Lm (15) Lj (17) had indeed been arrested by the police. However, the three of them have now been sent home to their parents.

"He has clarified and the 3 children have apologized," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sidrap Police, AKP Benny Pornika, contacted by VOI.

AKP Benny explained that 2 teenagers were praying janaah in Maritengngae District, Sidrap, South Sulawesi.

In front of him there is a body covered with a sheet of cloth. There is also a man standing at the front (Imam) using a mukenah, while the man standing at the back (makmum) uses a bowl instead of a sarong.

"While praying, the man acting as the priest recites surah alfatihah. But suddenly the man who acts as the congregation laughs. Hearing his friend laugh, the person acting as the corpse wakes up and laughs," explained AKP Benny.

The three teenagers called this action funny entertainment and then made it into WhatsApp history. The three of them did not expect the video that was made to go viral on social media.

"At this time the suspected perpetrator was being investigated by the Police Unit of the Police of Sidrap and accompanied by his parents considering that all three were underage," said AKP Benny.
