Police Ensure Maximum Security For G20 Summit In Bali

JAKARTA - The National Police explained their maximum efforts to ensure the success of the G20 Presidency international event in Indonesia. In this case, the Police carry out centralized security operations.

"This means that police operations are carried out starting from the National Police Headquarters to the regional level at the Bali, NTB level which will be carried out for 10 days, from November 7 to November 17," said Asops Chief of Police Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendi, Wednesday, September 21.

Agung said the police had prepared 5,746 personnel. The Police will continue to adapt to the conditions that develop in the field later.

"Our reserve of members is around 1,600. Prepare special vehicles for special handling, ships, helicopters, and escort vehicles," said Agung.

Even so, Agung ensured that the Police would continue to synergize with the TNI, Paspampres, BNPB, Basarnas, and other stakeholders.

"In accordance with the directive that the G20 Presidency Summit encourages environmentally friendly operations so that all vehicles used are electric vehicles," Agung continued.

The security and guarding, explained Agung, was carried out to ensure the arrival of the delegation and the President to avoid potential disturbances from the airport, the route to the hotel, in the hotel area, and at the location of the G20 Presidency Summit activities taking place in accordance with international security protocols and procedures.

"We have divided and mapped the points that are the focus of police security, divided into 5 areas: Seminyak, Jimbaran, Sanur, North Nusa Dua, South Nusa Dua. Priority is given because all the activities of the delegation and the president will take place there," said Agung.

The police have prepared an engineering strategy for 10 roads. In fact, 4,600 connected CCTVs have been prepared plus 1,500 bodyworns for all officers in the field.

"We prepare the equipment we need, starting from the secdoor, X-Ray, vehicles, then special vehicles for special handling as well as to ships and helicopters that we have prepared as well as vehicles and escorts," said Agung.

In addition, the police also anticipate things that might happen such as natural disasters, then threats that are not visible such as those related to cyber attacks and so on. "This, of course, has prepared a task force to handle it, we have formed it and we will be ready to handle it," said Agung.
