JAKARTA - A female TNI soldier was a victim of cell phone mugging in the Ciracas area, East Jakarta, which was carried out by an online motorcycle taxi driver.

Arie said the incident took place on Sunday, November 15 at around 05.00 WIB on Jalan Taruna Jaya, Cibubur District.

When the victim realized that he was a victim of mugging, said Arie, he immediately pursued the two perpetrators, who rode a Honda Vario motorcycle.

"But the victim fell and injured his motorbike and the perpetrator ran away. The victim made a report to the police," he said.

On Tuesday, November 17th, the Ciracas Police Buser Team managed to identify the perpetrators and arrested the two perpetrators and two of their colleagues in two separate places, namely Pondok Ranggon, Cipayung and Lubang Buaya, East Jakarta, along with evidence belonging to the victim.

"We tracked down the perpetrators. Finally, based on information from CCTV and investigation at the crime scene, the suspect was arrested while selling stolen cell phones at a cellphone shop," he said.

The perpetrator admitted to the police that he had mugged twice in Lubang Buaya and Ciracas.

"The perpetrator while carrying out the action was wearing an ojol jacket. The person concerned is still active as an online motorcycle taxi driver," he said.
