JAKARTA - PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said there was no need for invisionable hands to thwart DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

He conveyed this in response to the Democratic Party's claims that there were parties who wanted to thwart DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate. It is said that there are invisionable hands or hands that are not visible who are ready to move.

"Regarding Mr. Anies, there is absolutely no need to be tackled. Why? We'll see if his achievements are there," said Hasto in an online press conference, Sunday, September 18.

This achievement, continued Hasto, can be measured by conducting objective research. At least, there are four aspects that can be determined to assess Anies' performance during his tenure as number one person in Jakarta.

"First, what is Mr. Anies' campaign on the list. Including during the candidate debate, the progress of his achievements was conveyed. This is fair," he said.

Second, this assessment can also be carried out by displaying the DKI Jakarta budget during Anies Baswedan's tenure as governor. The assessment of the impact of the use of the APBD can be carried out.

"Third, at the same time compared to quantitatively, Pak Jokowi-Ahok's performance to Pak Ahok with Pak Djarot. Then cross-check the budget issued with the outcome," he said.

"Then about the problems of Jakarta residents. Floods, slums, congestion, availability of clean water, the existence of city parks, environmental cleanliness. Just imagine what Pak Jokowi did," continued Hasto.

Hasto reminded that this assessment should be a reference. Do not let, there are parties who feel they are victims of recklessness in the election process.

Moreover, he ensured that all parties would choose a civilized way to win certain candidates.

"So there is a gap in my opinion, a very inappropriate diction," he said.

"The information about the tackle is the playing the victim's strategy. Because that was also used to be played by Mr. SBY 2004 but the strategy is ancient. So, we don't need a strategy to become a victim to increase electoral," concluded Hasto.
