The Ministry Of Home Affairs Proposes That The Political Party Aid Fund Increase To Rp. 3,000 Per Vote

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) has submitted financial assistance of Rp. 3,000 per vote obtained from the last general election (election) for political parties. This amount has been proposed for the upcoming 2023 budget. "In an effort and it has been proposed for the 2023 fiscal year, hopefully it can be approved in the amount of Rp. 3,000 per vote," said Ministry of Home Affairs Inspector General Tomsi Tohir Balaw when filling out the Stranas PK activity entitled 'Restriction Corruption, Assistance for Political Parties to Become Solutions?' which aired online, Friday, September 16. Tomsi said that the current financial assistance for political parties is only Rp. 1,000 per vote obtained by the party during the election. The amount is in accordance with Government Regulation Number 1 of 2018 concerning the Second Amendment to Government Regulation (PP) Number 5 of 2009 concerning Political Party Financial Assistance. However, this amount is considered still limited. Thus, the application for an increase in the financial aid budget is carried out to prevent corrupt practices. "When compared to the provision of financial assistance from other countries such as Britain, Germany, South Korea and even France, the value is tens of percent," he said. The Ministry of Home Affairs, continued Tomsi, always tries to encourage the increase in political party assistance according to their needs. This encouragement was carried out with the DPR RI. With this increasing assistance, it is hoped that in the future the party can be more financially independent. "The Ministry of Home Affairs has encouraged facilitation to apply for an increase in political party financial assistance which received seats in the last election," said Tomsi. "With financial assistance for innovation and empowerment of political parties to improve the quality of human resources and strengthen institutional capacity, it can be better," he concluded.
