JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya secured the Mitsubishi Pajero because it used a fake RI 1 police number plate and tried to break through the door of the National Police Headquarters.

"Initial information, regarding the existence of a vehicle using the RI 1 plate that was secured by the ranks of the Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Directorate," said Head of Patwal, Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya, Kompol Argo Wiyono, quoted from Antara, Thursday, November 26.

Argo said the vehicle with the fake plates originally intended to enter the National Police Headquarters on Wednesday, November 25. However, they were intercepted by the Provost picket personnel because they were suspicious of the vehicle's license plate.

The findings were then transferred to the South Jakarta Traffic Police, which were then handed over to the Satpamwal Polda Metro Jaya.

"Currently, drivers and vehicle owners are conducting an in-depth study at the Gakkum Polda Metro Jaya Sub-Directorate to find out the mode of operation," said Argo.

As for the vehicle, it was temporarily secured at the Subdit Gakkum Polda Metro Jaya Office for using a fake identity.

Argo explained that this action could be charged under Article 280 in conjunction with Article 68 paragraph (1) of Law 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation regarding the illegal use of TNKB or according to its designation with the threat of a fine of Rp. 500,000 rupiah.
