BENGKULU - PT Jasa Raharja Bengkulu Branch stated that the payment of claims for traffic accident victims (lakalantas) that occurred in Rejang Lebong Regency in the first half of 2022 reached Rp578.5 million.

"The Jasa Raharja claim paid for accident victims in Rejang Lebong Regency in the first semester of 2022 starting from January 1 to June 30, 2022, reached Rp578,524,450," said a representative of PT Jasa Raharja at the Rejang Lebong Samsat Office, Budi Hastomo in Rejang Lebong, quoted from Antara, Friday, September 16.

He explained that Jasa Raharja's payment of claims for residents of Rejang Lebong Regency who were victims of the accident was given to 20 people, consisting of 10 people who died as many as 10 people and 10 seriously injured victims.

Payment of claims for victims who died, he said, was given to 10 people with a payment of Rp. 500 million or Rp. 50 million per person, while the remaining Rp. 78.5 million was given to victims who suffered serious injuries and permanent disabilities.

"We will pay for the victims who suffered serious injuries in accordance with the hospital medical expenses charged to the victims," he explained.

Payment of compensation for accident victims from PT Jasa Raharja itself, he added, was given in accordance with Law No. 34/1964 concerning Road Traffic Accident Obligations and PP No. 18/1965 and PMK No. 15/2017 concerning the amount of compensation and mandatory unpaid fees for accidents for passengers on land, rivers/dandaus, ferries/crossing, sea and air transportation passengers.

The compensation given by PT Jasa Raharja to the victims of the traffic accident itself is those who are victims of an accident involving two people or more or not a single accident.

The money that Jasa Raharja used to pay compensation came from the contributions of the vehicle owners, namely the SWDKLLJ payment or the Mandatory Contribution of Road Traffic Accident Funds listed on the STNK sheet.
