BNPB Set 1,111 Heavy Damaged Houses As A Result Of The West Pasaman Earthquake Achieved Rp50 Million Per Unit

SUMBAR - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has determined 1,111 houses to be heavily damaged by an earthquake that circulated the West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra Province (West Sumatra) on February 25, 2022.

"We submitted 1,112 houses that were heavily damaged to BNPB. After being verified, 1,111 units were approved," said BPBD Secretary Gustrizal at Simpang Empat, West Sumatra, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, September 14.

He said, according to the plan, the house of the earthquake victim with the category of heavy damage would be assisted by BNPB in the amount of Rp. 50 million.

Then for moderately damaged houses as many as 1,171 units will be assisted by the West Sumatra Provincial Government.

Meanwhile, the category of light damage will be assisted by local governments with temporary data as many as 2,172 units.

"This light damaged house will later be handled by the West Pasaman Regency Government. How much will the funds be in accordance with the regency's financial capacity as well," said Gustrizal.

Meanwhile, the West Pasaman Regency Government held a coordination meeting to accelerate the construction of heavily damaged houses after the Pasaman Bara earthquake through a zoom meeting with the Deputy for Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of BNPB in the West Pasaman Regent's room, Wednesday.

In the discussion of Regent Hamsuardi with Deputy Regent Risnawanto with BPBD Secretary Gustrizal, it was stated that the seriousness of the local government in handling the earthquake that occurred on February 25 resulted.

Moreover, so far the community, especially earthquake victims, have always urged local governments to resolve the issue of assistance.

"From the explanation of the Deputy, we got an idea that in the near future there will be clarity," said West Pasaman Regent Hamsuardi.

In addition, said the regent, President Joko Widodo will visit West Pasaman and Pasaman in October.
