JAKARTA - Member of the House of Representatives from the PDI-P faction, Effendi Simbolon, has apologized for his statement calling the TNI a gang of mass organizations. PDIP also immediately planned to meet the TNI Commander General Andika and Army Chief of Staff General Dudung Abdurachman.

"Of course we will talk to the Army Chief of Staff. Hopefully soon after an apology from our senior, Mr. Effendi Simbolon," said Chairman of the PDIP faction of the DPR, Utut Adianto in the PDIP Faction Room of the Nusantara Building I Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 14.

The chairman of Commission I of the DPR said that PDIP had communicated with the TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa and Army Chief of Staff General Dudung Abdurachman. Utut hopes that no one will dispute with each other regarding this polemic.

"The initial intention was all good intentions. When the good intentions were not necessary, everyone had to negotiate with each other. The interests and integrity of the Republic were much more important," he said.

"The TNI is the unifying, unifying of the nation. Don't let it be the other way around," added Utut. Previously, a member of Commission I of the DPR from the PDIP faction, Effendi Simbolon, apologized for the noise caused by his statement that the TNI was like a gang during a meeting with the TNI Commander on Monday, September 3.

Effendi argued, his statement in a working meeting with the Minister of Defense, the Commander of the TNI and the Chief of Staff of the TNI did not mean to offend the soldiers and officers. "I apologize for any of my offensive words, those who hurt, those who are uncomfortable in the hearts of any soldier, from enlisted officers to officers, even parties who are uncomfortable with words that may be interpreted differently. I myself state that I have no intention of stating that as it is held in public," said Effendi during a press conference in the PDIP Faction room at the Nusantara II Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 15.
