Death Witness Cipayung Explain, Victims Before Found Dead Had Protected Children From Fire

JAKARTA - Sobs of the family and father of the victim were unstoppable when a number of co-workers came to the victim's house to express their condolences in the Cilangkap area, Cipayung, East Jakarta, Wednesday, September 14.

The victim, named Syaiful (40), is an employee of the National Gas Company (PGN) who died from burns quite seriously all over his body. The victim died after protecting his son from the ferocity of the fire in the house.

According to Rendi, an eye witness to the incident, the fire broke at 03.30 WIB in the morning. The fire had grown, so local residents tried to break the window of the house.

The victim was found face down in a prone condition to protect his 6-year-old son from the raging fire.

"Anyway, I left the house, the fire was big. His wife's position was in room one, the deceased and his son were in front," Rendi told reporters, Wednesday, September 14.

The three victims were then taken to Adiyaksa Hospital for treatment. But unfortunately, Syaiful's life could not be saved. He died in the hospital.

"I saw that the position was below, I immediately took my car to the hospital. If the first child I took to the nearest clinic, it turned out that there was no oxygen, he was finally taken to the hospital," he said.

Previously, it was reported that deadly fires hit densely populated areas in RW 03, Cilangkap Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta, Wednesday, September 14, early in the morning.

As a result of the fire incident, one resident died in hospital during treatment.

The fire broke out in the house belonging to the former head of RW 03 on Jalan Masjid Al. Khoir, RT.07/03, Cilangkap Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta. The fire spread at 03.30 WIB.
