JAKARTA - The Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Edhy Prabowo, has stated that he is ready to be responsible for the alleged corruption case of lobster or fry. Edhy Prabowo also stated that he would resign from the position of Deputy Chief of Gerindra.

"I also apologize to all my party's extended family. I hereby resign as vice chairman and later I will ask to resign as minister and I am sure the process is ongoing. In his statement, Minister Edhy Prabowo apologized to his mother.

In this case, the KPK said that Edhy Prabowo as Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries issued Decree Number 53 / KEP MEN-KP / 2020 concerning the Due Diligence Team for Lobster Cultivation Fisheries Businesses.

In October 2020, SJT, the Director of PT Dua Putra Perkasa (DPP) came to the KKP office and met with the SAF as the minister's special staff as well as the Deputy Chairperson of the Due Diligence Team. During the KPK investigation, the export of lobster seeds can only be done through PT Aero Citra Kargo (ACK) forwader with a transportation fee of Rp1,800 / head.

"For the lobster seed export activities, PT DPP is suspected of transferring money to the account of PT ACK (Aero Citra Kargo) amounting to Rp731 million. Furthermore, PT DPP under the direction of EP (Edhy Prabowo) through the due diligence team obtained the determination of lobster / fry export activities and has made 10 shipments using PT ACK, "said Deputy Chairman of the KPK Nawawi P in a press conference.

From the lobster seed affair alias fry, Minister Edhy Prabowo benefited from the use of Rp3.4 billion of which was used for shopping for luxury goods in Honolulu, US, namely Rolex watches, Tumi and LV bags, and old navy clothes.

"In addition, around May 2020, EP is also suspected of receiving a sum of US $ 100 thousand from SJT through SAF and AM," said Nawawi.

The KPK then named 7 suspects, namely Minister Edhy Prabowo, SAF, APM, SWD, AF and AM. Meanwhile, the giver of bribes was SJT.
