As A Result Of The Burning Of Kos-kosan In Tamansari, 16 Families Without A Place To Live, Capai Losses Rp1 Billion

JAKARTA - The West Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. stated that the fire that hit 4 boarding houses on Jalan Mangga Besar IX, RT 12/07, Tangkit Village, Tamansari District, West Jakarta was caused by garbage processing. As a result of the incident, 16 families (KK) had an impact of not having a place to live.

According to information from the Gulkarmat Sub-dept., the fire broke out at 12.33 WIB. Then the fire was successfully extinguished with the help of water sprinkling by 17 fire engines.

Head of West Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Syarifudin, said the object that caught fire consisted of semi-permanent buildings made of walls and wood.

"The cause of the fire is suspected to be because residents burned garbage. The object that burned was 400 m2," said Syarifudin when confirmed by VOI, Tuesday, September 13.

After receiving reports of fires, West Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. officers deployed 17 fire engines with 78 personnel.

"Losses are estimated at IDR 1 billion. As a result of the fire, 16 families with 30 people were forced to lose their homes," he said.

Luckily, there were no casualties or injuries as a result of the fire. However, as many as 4 houses that were used as boarding houses were destroyed by fire.

According to one of the residents named Diki, the buildings that burned were two boarding houses, two residents' houses and some elementary school buildings.
