JAKARTA - Demonstrations against the increase in fuel oil (BBM) in the Horse Statue area, Monas, Central Jakarta, had clashes between two different mass groups. The clashes were triggered by provocations from one of the different mass groups. As a result of the clashes, several demonstrators fell into the Horse Statue water pond.

"There was a provocation, we have a command car from the combined period of Alumni PA 212, again reading prayers but their command car actually shouted," said Abu, one of the protesters to VOI at the location, Monday, September 12.

Then, the command car from a different mob that had just arrived and was about to rush into the barbed wire barricades was immediately blocked by other mass groups.

The command car, which is suspected to be the provocateur of the mass breaking, was pushed back towards the Tani Monument. Even one of the masses from different camps had fallen into the water roundabout of the Indosat building, near the Horse Statue, Monas.

"They are of different mass groups with us, their alleged paid mass. Indeed, the demands are the same regarding the decline in fuel and Jokowi," said Abu.

The incident was dispersed by police officers who were at the scene. The two mass groups involved in the clash were arrested by officers.
