JAKARTA - Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo was arrested by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) upon arrival from Honolulu, Hawaii, United States on Wednesday, November 25 in the morning at Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten.

Based on the State Officials' Wealth Report (LHKPN) submitted by Edhy Prabowo on March 31, he was recorded as having a wealth of IDR 7,422,286,613.

Of this amount, he is recorded as having assets in the form of 10 units of land and buildings worth Rp4,349,236,180 in Muara Enim and West Bandung.

Furthermore, he was recorded as having assets in the form of transportation equipment and machines valued at IDR 890 million.

Previously reported, the Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri confirmed that his men arrested the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo.

This arrest was carried out by the prosecution team after Edhy and his entourage arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, Tangerang, to be precise at Terminal 3 of Honolulu, Hawaii, United States.

"Last night KP Minister was secured by the KPK at 3 Soetta Airport when he returned from Honolulu," Firli said in his statement to reporters, Wednesday, November 25.

The former Deputy for Enforcement said that Edhy was arrested because he was suspected of being involved in corruption in the issuance of the export permit for lobster fries or seeds.

"Now he is at the KPK for questioning. Please give the deputy team time to work first," he said.
