COVID-19 Update as of September 8: 3,138 New Cases, 3,441 Recovers

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 77,037 specimens were examined with the result that there were 3,138 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,385,140 people and active cases have fallen by 315 to 38,119 cases", said Ministry of Health data, Thursday, September 8.

Today's recovered cases increased by 3,441 people, bringing the total to 6,189,607 people recovered. Then, the number of positive confirmed cases who died increased by 12 cases and the total was 157,729 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 1,318 cases and a total of 1,406,988 cases. Followed by West Java with 537 new cases with a total of 1,171,635 cases. Banten with 333 new cases and a total of 332,707 cases. East Java with 319 new cases and a total of 600,402 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 1,783 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 570 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 342 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 164 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 107,329,264.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 10.27 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 5,138 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 203,435,374 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 171,111,977 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 61,135,788 people and the fourth dose was 417,323 people. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
