JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Kemenparekraf/Baparekraf) collaborates with Netflix to promote tourism through content and develop films in Indonesia.
This collaboration was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding carried out by Plt. Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy who is also the Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/President Secretary of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani with Director of Public Policy Southeast Asia Netflix Ruben Hattari.
The signing was also witnessed by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Menparekraf/Kaparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno and Netflix Global Policy Vice President Dean Garfield.
Cooperation includes the creation of a variety of content that raises the potential for Indonesian tourism and creative economy. Starting from tourism destinations, culinary, creative economy products from various regions in Indonesia, as well as authentic local stories that will open the world window for Indonesia.
Menparekraf/Kabaparekraf Sandiaga Uno appreciated the collaboration between Kemenparekraf/Baparekraf and Netflix and hoped that this collaboration would not only promote Indonesian tourism in the spirit of collaboration but also raise the creative economy sector, especially the film sub-sector.
Because these two sectors, tourism and the creative economy have the potential to encourage the target of creating 1.1 million new jobs this year and 4.4 million new jobs in 2024.
