Judging The Salaries Of The General Chairperson Of The Party And The 9th List Of Political Parties That Get Funds From The State

YOGYAKARTA The salaries of party general chairmen are often questioned by many people, considering that party leaders are prestigious positions in a political structure.

In this article, VOI will review the salaries of the general chairman of political parties and their source of funding.

Please note, there is no exact figure regarding the salaries of the general chairman of the political party. The reason is, each party has its own scheme in payroll. However, in general, the salaries of party administrators come from funds deposited by several members.

The members of the DPR who were elected in the election were also reported to have deposited ruitin contributions for the supporting political parties.

Compiled by VOI from various sources, Thursday, September 8, 2022, each party has a different scheme in obtaining funds as well as determining the salaries of the general chairman of the party.

For example, the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) has a special account called Mutual Cooperation Account. This account was made in 2015 and became a place to accommodate voluntary contributions for party members and other parties.

Funds deposited by party members are used for party operations, pay the general chairman, as well as carry out political education.

According to Law Number 2 of 2011 concerning Political Parties, there are two types of funding sources for political parties. The first is from the government, the second is from party cadres.

In June 2022, the government provided billions of rupiah funds to nine political parties that met the parliamentary threshold.

The granting of political party funds is listed in Government Regulation Number 1 of 2018 concerning the Second Amendment to Government Regulation Number 5 of 2009 concerning Financial Assistance to Political Parties. This rule was issued by President Joko Widodo in January 2018.

There are three articles from Government Regulation Number 5 of 2009 which consists and is regulated in PP No. 1/2018, namely Article 5, Article 9, and Article 16. Article 5 states that the amount of political party financial assistance from Rp108 per vote is increased to Rp1,000 per vote.

In the 2019 election, there were 16 who participated in the general election. However, there were only nine parties that succeeded in fulfilling the parliamentary threshold.

The nine parties are the PDI-P, Golkar Party, Gerindra Party, NasDem Party, PKB, Democratic Party, PKS, PAN, and PPP.

The nine political parties received aid funds from the government according to the number of seats in parliament. For details as follows:

The party, led by Megawati Soekarnoputri, received 27,503,961 votes in the 2019 election. Thus, the amount of funds obtained by PDIP from the government is IDR 27,503,961,000.

In the last general election, Golkar managed to reap 17,229,789 votes. So that the Golkar Party has the right to receive funds amounting to Rp17,229,789,000.

The number of votes that Gerindra managed to collect in the 2019 election was 17,596,839 votes. Gerindra received financial assistance of Rp. 17,596,839,000.

The NasDem Party received aid funds of Rp. 12,661,792,000 for successfully collecting 12,661,792 in the general election.

Partai Kebangkitan Bangsa (PKB) mendapatkan 13,570,970 suara pada Pemilu 2019, sehingga berhak mendapatkan dana bantuan sebesar Rp13,570.970,000.

The party bearing the symbol of the sickle moon received 11,493,663 votes. Thus, PKS has the right to receive financial assistance of Rp11,493,663,000.

The Democratic Party received assistance funds from the government amounting to Rp. 10, 876,057,000 because it received a sura of 10,876,9057.

In the 2019 general election, PAN received 9,572,623 votes. This result made PAN receive assistance of Rp. 9,572,623,000.

The party bearing the symbol of Ka'bah received a vote of 6,323,147, so it was entitled to an aid fund of Rp. 6,323,147,000.

That's information about the salaries of general chairmen of political parties in Indonesia. The amount of salary received depends on the financial policies of each party.
